Rebelling Against God-Ancient Patterns
Is There An Evil In The World?
What do you think?
Maybe your thinking is along one of these mindsets:
“Who cares? I have what I need right now. I’m going to just live my life and take care of my family and children and not think about it.”
“I never really seriously thought of it before.”
“I follow Eastern religions and philosophies and they don’t really teach the concept of a person or being causing evil or suffering to the world.”
“I follow Christian teachings and believe that a wicked spirit creature has fallen away from Truth and is actively misleading and causing evil in the world.”
Holding A Different View As A Possiblity
In one of my earlier articles, I wrote of the idea of logic. How I think it is good if we can hold our current beliefs close to us, while also being willing to consider another option.
Our beliefs are an important part of our identity. They shape us and how we live our life now, what we plan for in the future, what we are willing to stand up for, etc. We often can’t just change deep-seated beliefs quickly, since so much of our life is structured around our beliefs.
However, are all of our beliefs correct? Should we at times take a closer look at them?
Think of past examples of people that believed that the world was a certain way for hundreds or thousands of years. Whether it was science, religion, culture, or anything else. If their former beliefs were proven incorrect by a more accurate or full understanding of the world, then didn’t it ultimately benefit people to believe what they learned to be true?
I think the world has gotten away from truth for sure. Everybody just wants to do their own thing and not be accountable to someone above them. So they just have this, “We can all just float around and figure out whatever we think is best” idea.
Has this kind of thinking helped the world?
Do you see it progressing in a positive way or regressing?
Truths
Much of my work in education comes down to my beliefs that there are certain truths in the world. They are there and have always been there if we look for them.
Principles. Foundational teachings.
Biological truths, physical truths, nervous system truths, relational truths.
Spiritual truths.
So whatever your current beliefs are now, I am inviting you to keep that near you. But also to consider the following information open-mindedly.
Hold it as something that could perhaps be an option:
“Could this (perhaps different idea to my current beliefs) really be true?
“Could this be a more accurate understanding of things?”
If you have read some of my articles or pages, I touch on the idea that I believe in a personal, heavenly God. I believe the Bible to be a source of truth.
Maybe you don’t believe that. That’s ok.
So if you need to, imagine the following just as a few pieces of evidence. You are collecting evidence from a variety of places and putting them all out on a huge table in front of you.
Imagine them just as stories from a history book. Just as concepts. Just as documents.
However, I ask that you could keep in awareness:
What if these stories and concepts and ancient patterns match up with patterns we see in our day?
What if they are real?
What if they are true?
What would that mean for me?
What would that mean for my future?
